I have been teaching since 1985; 10 years in the classroom and 21 years in the resource room. I received my undergraduate degrees in Elementary and Special Education from Augustana College and my Masters' Degree in Special Education from the University of South Dakota. Prior to coming to Stewart, I taught in Parkston, SD, Council Bluffs Iowa, and Yankton Middle School. I use that experience as well as my understanding of special needs in working with students to prepare them for their transition to the middle school level. It is my goal to help them develop skills, confidence, and independence.
I was born and raised in Yankton and attended Stewart School. I am married to Brooks. We have three grown children; Blake, Jordan, and Clara. Our son, Jordan and his wife Katie, are expecting their first child so we are anxiously awaiting the arrival our first grandchild in February.
