Hello! My name is Susan Goeden, and I am a fourth grade teacher at Stewart School. Not only have I had the privilege to teach in the Yankton School District since 2002, but I also received my K-12 education here. The positive opportunities that I have experienced over the years make me proud to teach and raise my family in this great community.
In fourth grade, students begin to take the shift from “learning to read” to “reading to learn.” We are working on becoming independent, responsible learners. The children begin to understand how important it is to apply things that they have learned from their past teachers to the new concepts we cover. As teachers, we all work together to build a strong foundation for our students to encourage lifelong learning.
My husband, Trevor, and I have two daughters, ages 10 and 12. We also have a dog and two cats. My family is very important to me, and I love spending time with them. Being outdoors, traveling to new places, trying new things, and establishing family traditions are some things we enjoy doing together.
